A US judge has rejected a request by President Donald Trump to stop the publication of a memoir by his former National Security Adviser, John Bolton.The justice department argued that the book had not been properly vetted. The Judge did declare that Mr Bolton had gambled with US National Security.
However , Washington DC District Court Judge Royce Lamberth said the government had “failed to establish that an injunction would prevent irreparable harm”.Hundreds of thousands of copies of the book – The Room Where It Happened – have been printed and distributed, and are due to go on sale on Tuesday. The President has by his own led opposition ensured a greater number of sales of the book and this has been an added bolt on for Bolton.
Mr Bolton whose career has spanned many years was apparently a hawk and his walrus lookalike ensured that he stood out in appearance and appeal. I recall the President saying that had he listened and acted on his advice there would already have been 4 nuclear wars in his first term.
My Book ‘ In the Room, In the Deal ‘ is currently in final draft with a few chapters to add. The title however is very similar to that of Mr Bolton’s book. There is something special about Rooms. It was my film partner many years ago Jay Gigandet that coined the phrase ‘ If you’re in the room, you’re in the deal ‘ and as Manager of US comedy duo Abbott & Costello he had questioned whether someone was to share in part of the proceeds of a deal and Bud Abbott quipped ‘ if he was in the room he was in the deal ‘
Mr Bolton was clearly in the Room with Mr Trump on many occasions and I’m surprised that anyone is allowed to write his memoir especially as what goes on in that room is best of times highly sensitive. However in the Land of the Free democratic freedom ensures that anyone can say anything. Though what the President has reportedly said , when one reads the book may allow the headliners to be seen in what context those remarks may have been made. Mrs May ‘ uk has nuclear weapons right ? ‘ ‘ Yes we do Mr President but we don’t have a Mr Bolton to press the button ‘. ‘ Is Finland part of Russia ? ‘ …’ or has Mr Bolton severed that too ? ‘. ‘ Oh yes, please Mr Xi Jinping can you buy some Agricultural Equipment from my American manufacturers ? ‘ ……. to help me win an election but more importantly help feed the mid west Families that make them.
The Memoir in my opinion will prove to be much ado about nothing and the Democrats in this election year are whipping up the venom. Business man Trump hopefully is on a share of the Book deal after all by John’s own admission he was in the Room. Bud Abbot would agree, would he not ? Anyway enough said , just one final word on the subject. Please buy my book when published, hopefully soon so keep an eye out. Bolton is a town in Lancashire England and in the 19th Century was the largest cotton spinning centre in the World. 200 years later John Bolton spins his own yarn and truly lives up to his name. Look out for the President at the Book Launch Party after all he was in the Room and I’m convinced is in the deal.
