SAGE

Sage is a greyish green plant , a herb. Sage is a wise person renowned for good Judgement. Sage is the Scientific Advisory Group for Emergencies. The Group advises the UK Government and the Group has circa 88 members. To have 88 members results in greyish advice and undoubtedly wisdom gets diluted as the enemy called average operates. Too many cooks spoil the broth even with sage in it.

The two protagonist Universities throughout Covid 19 pandemic is Oxford who claim to be evidence based and Imperial who model forecasting outcomes. There are two and three members respectively from each University on Sage ( less than 6% of the Group ). Sage have advised earlier lockdowns but the Government adopted a tier system a half way house to placate business and the welfare case. It is a difficult call but remember more people die per annum from road deaths and ordinary flu but driving or going out with your hair wet has never been banned………yet.

Tonight the PM we tell us that the lockdown will be implemented for a further month. Tonight is Halloween, the night the witches appear annually so they say and no one knows witch one is which. It’s also a night of the blue moon which is so called as it appears once in a blue moon. The next one will be in 19 years and before then be assured we will have a vaccine, a new Prime Minister and hopefully some really Sage people running the country.
