Ghost Town 5

The streets of London are we are told paved with Gold. Clearly this is metaphorical for today as seen in the photo the streets are a mix grey/ black of concrete and tarmac. In fact the streets may have been paved with Gold say in Roman Times though those streets are approximately 15 feet below today’s levels. A great deal is going on under the streets these days of course as people and fibre optic cables carry the connect. Without the cabling there would be little trading though as the Financial Centre of the World ( I would say that ) under the streets are certainly paved with Gold. Certainly copper at $10,000 a ton runs through the City carrying all those conversations and misdemeanours.

Today in Ghost Town again the humans are coming back and there is to and fro as opposed to the recent no go. The masks are on and people are still hiding themselves away but there is a slight buzz back , call it a hum. The economy is waking up to the fact that we must work to pay for things and no longer can we rely on Super Sunak to feed the nation. The shops look ready for action but there’s more action trading on the cables than in the shops though it is good to know that there could be life post Jeff B.

Ghost Town London is a resistant place and having survived 2000 years of plague, boom , bust and virus, with redevelopment each era the Town will make it through. The interesting aspect is the mix of cultures and language which walk the streets. The cobbled streets are now few but the wood block floors which the Romans walked on have gone. Ghost Town is coming out of coma and back to life. Life in the new normal. In the years to come the streets are likely to be paved with crypto meantime it’s gold at $1800 an ounce which for those who no longer weigh in Imperial is very little. In October the contactless card limit increases from £45 to £100 which is called inflation. That’s the enemy walking the streets in Ghost Town and we need to be on alert for the new Ghoul in town.
