Father Away.

Today , certainly in the UK and USA it is Fathers Day. In the UAE it is in two days time and though it differs around the globe it is a day to celebrate the Father, pay respect for that old boy in slippers that usually pays the Bills.

As a result of largely divorce in the UK there are approximately 2.8 million single parent Father families. Of the 87% children that left home only half of the children see their Father regularly. Dads die earlier on average than Mum and therefore there can be a tendency to romanticize ‘ my Dad ‘ . One in three families in the UK are parented by a Step Father, someone not in the Production team but called off the subs bench to Manage the Production ( think Joseph and Jesus ).

Woody Allen of course in his movie ‘ Always what you wanted to know about Sex ‘ depicted the spermatozoa swimming furiously to fertilize the egg. Supposedly the strongest sperm makes it then flexes his muscles and 9 months later out pops the baby. The activity is very popular yet some of the donors don’t stay to donate beyond the initial act. Those that do then get categorized or more probably blamed for designer defaults and some lay claim to success. School Sports Days or Matches can often bring out the aggressor in many male species.

Some Fathers stay the course and with great heart and broad wallet perform at every level. Let’s face it a Dad should be there for good and bad times , there to receive the Angst Accolade and Gold medals that follow for their lifetime Labour. Unlike others there is no remission for good behavior and one must remain expectant to expect to pay in some way for the post.

Fathers also get to give their daughters away in marriage though some Fathers would prefer to give all their children away. Some children would like to have a different Dad, one like Johnny up the road but reality breaks in when it’s realized your stuck with the one you got. To celebrate the date the blogger wrote this little poem to say it all. At the end of the day Dad is Dad and in China they celebrate on the 8th August as the number 8 is lucky and the pinyin is pronounced ‘ ba ‘ whilst colloquially Father is. ‘ ba ba ‘. Indeed Ba Ba black sheep have you any wool ? Yes sir yes sir I’m the fool ( adapted nursery rhyme ) . Anyway here’s my rhyme. Happy Fathers Day 2022.

Today you are the Father

For some they’d rather not

For you no choice, you have the one you’ve got.

The sperm that made the swim and won

Producing daughter or a son

Real Fatherhood calls for more

Of that you can be forever sure

Responsibility, patience a caring hand

Trials and tribulations the one that stands.

Always there in times good and bad

Wiping tears away those moments sad

Rejoicing at their every success

Overflowing at their triumphs blessed.

Today we celebrate true manhood

The Father’s heart the one that’s good

Forever faithful and always there
