Ukraine is now through matters dreadful ,firmly on the World’s map, their yellow and blue flag the most recognizable. Yet only 4 months on the news out of there has slipped the headlines and is becoming a norm report , oh by the way a shopping centre with a 1000 people in it destroyed.
General Patrick Sanders who heads up the British Army has observed that we are in a 1937 moment , that prelude to World War 2. Are we really ignoring the warnings here, is World War 3 the only reset to the economic woes that face us globally ? Inflation wipes away value , War wipes away everything.
Of course today the armory of certain nations can wipe away everything very quickly and despite literally having these in the arsenal of angst only the crazed would use these , though they were used before. Money is a tool of bargain and in freezing access to it one can control yet as we see Russian debt default who actually suffers , the not being paid or the one that can’t pay as sanctions have lost the key to their coffers.
If you rearrange the first two letters of Nuclear in reverse it reads Unclear and that is where we are. A two sided real war could result in nuclear and that is the end , as it ended the trouble in 1945. The options to end this are Unclear outside the nuclear option. Sanctions won’t end it, debt default ,so what , lives ending daily? , Golf, tennis, soccer and cricket , who’s on Love Island and Glastonbury old timers headlining seem where we are at. It seems very unclear what does happen next, what will solve and end this nightmare ?
I met an old lady at the bus stop and she bemoaned ‘ One man has done this ‘ and she’s right and only one man can solve this. One man must meet with that one man and unless and until that happens the options to end this safely are unclear. In the book of Isaiah we read the cry of ‘ whom shall I send ‘ from God in His temple and Isaiah is touched and sent. Out of the burning bush Moses is sent to negotiate with Pharaoh the release of the Hebrew slaves. Both are sent from above with power of staff and speech to carry the message. Isaiah cries ‘ send me ‘ , Moses reluctantly takes up the task , both succeed.
We need to pray that the Almighty will send one man and quickly, empowered , enabled and equipped , jaw not war and one who brings peace. Keep praying for that to happen, that is clear and our ultimately our only option.
