Alas poor Boris we knew you well. Indeed Boris resigned donned his mop and bucket remaining as Caretaker PM whilst his Party organizes his replacement. There’s always a tinge of sadness when the PM makes his goodbye speech outside Number 10. At the end of the day Boris did his best Boris the Best or Boris the Beast you can choose.
Meantime as I wandered the morning Capital of London in Mayfair I could hear the jungle drums of Westminster beating as Boris woke to the reality that he could no longer relish the interior decoration of his pad as eviction with Mother , Child and dog loomed large. I for one am going to thank him and I look forward to reading his memoir. Ironic that it’s Game , Set and Match for Boris in the second week of Wimbledon.
And it was Wimbledon that struck me mid afternoon as Mrs Qbit Blogger was in town with me and all off chance stuff and trying to impress her I chanced a visit to Wimbledon Tennis where I got lucky. Day visitors though relegated to Car Park 6, a young steward from Imperial College arranged a buggy to take me to the main gates. £10 each later we were through the gates but told we couldn’t get to see tennis unless we had a day ticket. £15 each later we had a day ticket for the outer courts. I then climbed Henman Hill and went to the Resale Ticket Gate for Centre Court. £30 later I was climbing the stairs to Row C and we did it. Celebration followed with some Pims and as the evidence shows above the seats were fabulous. Mrs Qbit Blogger was impressed , I was back in her good books. I then reflected on Boris, for tonight as he returns home will Mrs Carrie Johnson berate him for lasting little and promising long. Did Mrs J finally realize she had married a Journalist not a Prime Minister.
Did Mrs Qbit Blogger finally realise that I skimmed my way into Centre Court on an off chance ? Life at the end of the day is very off chance and if you see the gap then go for it. Just like the players on the grass. Fast serve and going for the gap. Tonight Mrs Qbit Blogger knows it’s love all but Mrs Johnson knows it’s game over and even Hawkeye no longer works.
