The blogger woke with heavy heart this morning on the day of the funeral of Queen Elizabeth. On the tenth day of mourning , the end of summer and the sun finally setting on the British Empire.
Yet, as the blogger adjusted his mind set heart and as Dawn rose I was reminded of that spoken by Jesus in John 16 the 33rd verse when He reminded us to be of good cheer , have peace for He had overcome this world even the tribulation of death itself.
The filing past her coffin in Westminster Hall was a reminder of those we have lost along the walk of life. We were all able to identify grief and see the imposter that death is. For the Queen the body lay there and will today be interned but her Spirit is very much alive and on that the sun will never set. Absent from the body present with the Lord, 2 Corinthians 5 verse 8.
Yes, today we will look upon events sadly but the real perspective is the hope to come that though our forefathers and mothers have come and gone we too will be there ourselves one day but all reunited. This is our Blessed Assurance.
For Britain , many nations want to leave Commonwealth and some wish to stay. Some through Brexit wanted independence and some want away from Union completely. Yet ultimately only unity brings peace to mankind’s coexistence here and division be in in families, relationships and nations brings angst. In death we are reunited and Brought into eternal unity , a place we can all reach and are given the opportunity to reach. This is our Blessed Assurance.
One of the known profiles of the person Elizabeth was her great faith and through that her own blessed assurance. As those rainbows appeared again over Westminster look up today and see her looking over us all for she is at home. Home with her Heavenly Father and her father , mother sister and all those that left before her. I’m looking forward to seeing her again and my Mother and Father alongside , my blessed assurance and the peace that brings.
