Thankful @ Thanksgiving.

A Wag asked me if the Americans celebrated Thanksgiving as they were ever thankful for dumping the British and East India’s Tea in Boston harbor in 1773. I explained that was not the case but it was in fact the Colonists thanking God at Harvest Time in that New World of America.

Tea is often associated with problems as the British often put the kettle on and make tea in crisis. When the Managing Director of TATA Group India asked me if I thought their acquisition of Tetley Teas would be a success I replied in the affirmative explaining that when faced with problems the British drank tea and be assured we have many problems.

Ironically the Yanks still love all things British including the Monarchy being particularly moved recently with the funeral of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth. They have on two occasions tried to infiltrate the Royal Family with moves made by divorcees Simpson and Markle. They succeeded marrying of course but never quite got there having sought by their own volition the Royal Exit Doors.

Now with the strengthening dollar and weakening pound the Yanks may well be looking to takeover through ownership or control many of leading British Companies( have we many left ? ). The NHS may of course be one of those in their target and it may well prove to be the only alternative to funding the thing as it looks an unsustainable model to feed. The Nurses want more money and rightly so but where’s it all coming from.

With a population 5 times larger than Britain and resources of every kind America is a mighty nation which accounts for 60% of all world trade. We are still told by British Politicians that we have a special relationship with America but sometimes I have my doubt. Joey Biden President thought Rasheed Sunook was our new Prime Minister and I’m not sure if he knows much about us.

Anyway your cousins across the Pond are thinking about you on this day of celebration. We are here for you if you need us and we ask God to keep blessing you as He has done. We can be Thankful @ Thanksgiving. Enjoy that Turkey y’all.
