Robin.

Three Robin stories to bring a cheer to your Autumn days. Every time I get stressed out with what I do a little Robin appears as if to say ‘ it’ll be alright ‘ . Today was no exception in the garden at 7.30am then when I returned at 4pm. This is the little guy that came. Robins can live up to 12 years but many die off in their first 18 months. I love them.

Second Robin story was to do with Robin Hood. The actor Richard Greene who played Robin Hood in the original TV series came into Harrods Sports Department where I worked weekends as a student. In those days it was very formal. Anyway Richard G wanted help to buy a bow and arrow. Surely I asked you know everything about Archery . He replied ‘ you’ll be surprised what the stuntman can do ‘ . He then with my help chose them and then asked if we could deliver them to his home in Chiswick. I then approached the Floor Manager a snob called Mr Daisy. ‘ Excuse me Mr Daisy, Robin Hood is over there and wants to know if we deliver to Chiswick ? ‘ . Mr Daisy reprimanded me ‘ Please, Mr Hood if you don’t mind ‘

The last story is not about Batman’s assistant although I did have dinner with his butler Michael Caine once. No this is about going out one night with friends before a soccer match and drinking a tad too much. Our Manager refrained from any drink and offered to drive me home. On seeing his car I thought I must be very drunk for it only had three wheels . Yes it was the famous Robin car , the Reliant Robin which were made until 2001 and cost brand new less than £10,000 to buy. British engineering one wheel missing.
