What next ?

When Yocheved Lifschitz 85, was released last night she turned to her captor and shook hands saying goodbye. It was not Stockholm syndrome but an act of love and forgiveness. Of course she and her husband retained hostage had lived peace all their lives alongside Jew / Palestinian. Her daughter was reunited with her in a Tel Aviv hospital and her daughter spoke of the ‘ twisted history’ that led to this dreadful situation.

When Moses led the Hebrews out of slavery in Egypt the journey to the promised land of 11 days took 40 years as disobedience delayed their journey. Caleb and Joshua were two spies of 12 who scouted the land before entering and 10 others returned with fearful negative reports not to enter. Moses however knew the land was promised out of the burning bush and in they went. Crossing the Jordan and displacing those there some 3300 years ago. No one truly settled and the land saw more rulers than anyone can imagine. The British ended up deciding what would happen in Palestine. Mistakes were made the Israel State established and the prospect of sharing with those displaced 3300 years ago never settled.

The land of the Bible the generations out of Abraham , out of Issac and Ishmael would never see eye to eye preferring tooth for tooth. Peace in harmony living can never come to the land . It is the inevitable iniquity of the innocent people. Humanity shows its ugly dangerous self in every quarter yet humanity also shows it’s great ability to love , forgive and persevere. Jekyll and Hyde looking for a place of peace. It will never come. So what next ?

Israel can adopt revenge and slaughter everything as they roll into Gaza and destroy all. They fear if they don’t that others will see their weakness and attack them again. Both scenarios can’t be disputed. Both Jews and Palestinians are pawns of course in a bigger scenario where nations seek domination and again there can be fight back with ultimate nuclear destruction. Mankind is bad but there is good out there too and good needs to be found quickly.

There is a solution but it will take a leader that we have not seen to now rise , pronounce peace and aid immediately to those who need it. Where is that leader today ? One thing for sure the leader is there and that leader will come. The leader is known and peace will come. I speak confidently because the alternative solutions can’t work and true leadership should know that. Yocheved Lifschitz knows it and at 85 she has the right qualities of character to be involved. These are not the end times as spoken of for worse is to come and it will come but not yet. That twisted history can’t be untwisted but destiny can be decided for we stand at the foothills of future and we can choose.

It is so easy to destroy far harder to create , so stupid to revenge and so self destructive not to forgive. It will take courage not to enter with arms but aid to help not hinder. If others want to fight then they can only fight if there is an opponent in the ring. Watch now see that leader rise in our midst. That’s what is next , eyes open , be expectant.
