In the movie Terminator , Arnold Schwarzenegger famously says Hasta La Vista ( goodbye see you later ). It is a quasi threat of terror upon the recipient ‘ watch out I’m coming back ‘ . We experienced a political version of that yesterday in the form of the Cabinet reshuffle . The Tory Terminating Party if you believe the Labour rhetoric is soon at hand ( possibly May 2024 ).
Meantime the actors return , David Cameron whose call for referendum on Brexit led to his downfall as the populous called his bluff. Many of course have called him other things including the Commons Select Committee into the Greensil Affair. Then billions of dollars of Investors money went missing but not before David took home 10m dollars. David was lambasted but that doesn’t matter. Lex Greensill was doubtless in touch again with the Foreign Secretary overnight looking again for a few cajole calls to Treasury.
In another return , this time Esther La Vista was the return of the scouser Esther McVey as Minister of Common Sense. Thankfully Esther is back and we can all sleep at night now we have one last person with the sense to sort out the mess. Not sure if Esther is giving up her day job as a GB News host for who could ask anyone to jungle two careers. David did say he’d resigned from everything else leaving no doubt thousands of others in the proverbial as he did in 2016 instantly.
As for Suella Braver Woman I’m sure she is also coming back one day for this will be her third return and she will be catching up with Frank Sinatra. The Dave and Esther returns may not be long for if there is an election in 6 months , Labour look favourites to win. I’m not sure however if they have anyone with common sense in their party and we might well have to survive without one. David will retain his seat in the House of Lords so again will not suffer the consequences of his chaos. ( what a great politician he is ).
Finally Arnold of course made Governor of California and would have run for President had he not been Austrian. Anyway I’ve said enough and now wish to terminate this blog. Hasta La Vista readers.
