For many planet earth is like living on another planet these days. We hear of great ambitions of nations and the private sector to venture from earth in search of life, minerals , water and whatever on other planets.
It seems however that the current initiative to exit and the business rationale might be none of these but literally to get away from earth to somewhere safe. Beset by the tales of climate change , wars and much self destruction through drugs, self harm and suicides is the mood now exit.
Does Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos know something we don’t or are they simply forward thinking humans looking to benefit mankind and make a buck in doing so. We have refugees and immigrants crossing choppy dangerous waters to get into the UK whist we have an itinerant population trying to get out.
The Mayflower left the shores of Britain 500 years ago looking for a better life in America and 40m South Americans crossed the border to get there this year. Meantime there is the prospect of civil war in 2024 and if many of those coming there may well be conscripted in a soon coming World War according to the United Nations.
The only escape then is to Plan It Planet and to be the first to get that Moon or Mars postcode. Generation whatever is being asked to accommodate so much in such a short space of time and we are in an era of fast pace evolution having to accept multiple changes as the new normal. If AI enters the arena ( it already has ) then according to the future mongers it will change all our lives in such a massive way.
How will we all cope or is there a prospect of a continuing life as we knew it on another Planet. Imagine building in a move to Mars for your grandchildren and explaining to them that we screwed up and ruined earth. We know the Institutions of Church and State have broken down and the only thing we can trust is death at some point ( the ultimate exit of assurance ).
Woke has woken us all up to the fact we can say little , we are limited in saying what we think and almost doomed if we do. Is there a bounce back from here an almost dead cat bounce or have the few overtaken the many ? What Planet are you planning to head to or like the blogger are you sticking around to witness the inevitable.
