Colonel Loudhailer.

The blogger attended a Rally today and heard Colonel Loudhailer speak of the need to protect freedom of speech supported by a strong military and to ensure the nation is ready at all times to defend itself. The Colonel pointed out that the real enemy was lethargy and that we should not rely on our politicians to protect us all.

Some in the crowd thought he was talking off his head and his content was nothing to shout about.

Another speaker took to his knees to implore us all to protect freedom of speech. Is there such freedom we may well ask ? At a time when opinions rage from every quarter it seems that we can all say what we like as long as we don’t offend others who do not like what we say. With such a cross profile of people with diverse interests doing just that has become almost impossible.

Many at the rear were unable to hear and the raucous crowd hurled abuse asking him to turn up the volume. Others jeered he was completely off his head but he stood his plinth and made his case with great aplomb.

The afternoon ended well and the sounds of abuse and cheer from the crowd proved that freedom of speech reigns today in Britain. Proof that when those around you lose their heads we must remain calm and in doing so be seen and heard.
