One Horse Race

The race is about to begin. Though we know the winner before it starts the race goes on. The horses are at the gate. The favourite is Stall One. In stall two the next horse has both feet tied together. The third horse is dead and lies motionless in the stall. The fourth horse no one has heard of and will never run. The last horse wants to win but there is no jockey to ride him. The bookmakers no longer quote odds. The crowd fear they may get arrested before they leave the track. No one dare say anything but bring the finishing line to the gate.

The horse is crowned victor and his team celebrate with vodka and delusion. The crowds are Rushing everywhere and resign themselves to life as they know it. Better days may lay ahead but they feel that they have run out of horses. Only 88% believe the horse won the other 12% don’t even have a brain to know.

Does this sound familiar akin to anything that you may know ?
