Not everyone celebrated the resurrection. Those that crucified Jesus from the Jews to the Romans the greatest happening that ever occurred created a nightmare scenario. So much so that the soldiers guarding the tomb were executed, graves were dug open to find Him and Caiphas the High Priest resigned to his error left office and died shortly thereafter. An innocent man had been executed.
Many innocent people have been punished for a crime they never committed. In December 2023 Glyn Simmons was released from prison after 48 years 3 months and 16 days exonerated by an Oklahoma Judge for a murder he never committed.
Many people today are accused, guilty without trial, cancelled without evidence. The baying crowds looking for destruction of the individual. It is the trait of schadenfreude so present in mankind. Comebacks are rarely celebrated as the naysayers are proven wrong.
Jesus defeated death that third day, the only person to have ever done so and it has been a thorn in many a side for 2000 years. The rising is the hope that is all we have and those that seek to destroy the very essence of humanity hate it. Later that day Jesus appeared on the road with two men, joined in their discussion and shared dinner with them. These men only recognised Him when in discussion their hearts burned. If you met Jesus yours would do so too.
You too can meet Him on a road near you. He’s waiting today for you to join Him. It was a woman that first discovered that the tomb was empty and she ran to tell others. Of course she ran , it was the greatest ever happening and breaking news that broke the plans of all those plotters and schemers who got it wrong. There will be many of course that get it wrong about you but don’t fret focus on your road that is ahead and fear not for He has risen and invites you to follow.
