Just Saying

In the ‘ Just saying series ‘ just a few comments on matters topical , no not tropical , topical. The fact a British guy has just run the length of Africa about 9,500 miles is probably both topical and tropical.

Speaking of tropical the weather never ceases to amaze very warm and windy in Britain’s spring. As for Climate Change , yes when will it change as we’ve had the wettest year since 1872 when Gladstone was Prime Minister. How comes now we have to go through the alphabet and name every storm , Kathleen today , next one Lionel or Louise , who’s paid to do this ?

Meantime in Florida the sunshine state someone paid £500,000 last night to sit next to Donald Trump at dinner as he raised $50m at a Gala Fundraiser event. Apparently 2 guys paid £1m each not to have to sit next to him and as far away as possible. He looks like he’s going to be the next President and yes he may stop all the wars but oddly enough he may stop the upswing on Wall Street as he returns to build those other Walls he likes.

Speaking of bricks and mortar I liked watching an Obama production when he cited that in previous generations people bought homes at twice their annual salary now 6 times was the cost. Further that , during a time when most other goods became abundant and affordable, housing was the biggest issue in society today. An English man’s home is said to be his castle and castles don’t come cheap. Once the next Labour Party takes power they will no doubt attack the castle in a mind the moat moment.

Finally like many millions watched Scoop on Friday night and the same old same old. The real Scoop would of course be to find out who killed Mr Epstein and why on Earth Ms Maxwell’s defence team explain why she needed to be so close to him in the first place. PS I did find the ever present whippet dog annoying. I mean I never once saw him on Newsnight. I love dogs but was he just there to whippet up for us all or was something else being flogged. Do let us know Emily. Have a good week.
