80 years ago today Colonel Stauffenberg laid a device in the Wolf’s lair to assassinate Adolf Hitler. The plot failed and Hitler survived. In the previous blog we read of Divine Intervention saving the life of Trump at the hand of an assassin.
Did God intervene to save the life of evil Adolph ? I don’t think so but he was saved from certain death. The other guy , the devil can also get in and move things around so we need be attentive.
In 1957 on this day some 12 years after the war with Hitler Supermac Prime Minister famously declared to the British Public ‘ you’ve never had it so good ‘. Though challenged at the time looking back Harold was right. Sorry Harold , Earl of Stockton top and Adolph H below just in case the moustache on both confused you.
Finally on this day and someone without a moustache called Neil Armstrong landed on the moon. 55 years on his brave feat and his foot in one small step never ceases to amaze me. President Nixon telephoned him from the Oval Office in what must be the longest long distance phone call. He congratulated Armstrong on his achievement.
The Americans are going back to the Moon and they intend to build a base there to launch onwards to Mars ‘ one big step for man , one really giant leap for mankind. Meantime in Germany the far right are moving along with other European nations and American in making their nations great again in strident nationalism.
As for Britain ‘ you’ve never had it so difficult ‘ as it struggles with its new identity and cross profiles of a British person today. Multi faith, multicultural and multi multi ( sounds like an Indian dish ) we have entered a new era under the care of Kier. No that’s not Kier in the photo below but of a honeymoon in which Kier is and that ends tomorrow I’m reliably told.
Then it’s back to reality and getting down to the nitty gritty on putting so much right. Prime Minister Starmer faces a big task and we all wish him well except probably those 31 MPs who were sidestepped for jobs and Ministerial positions. A few of those will no doubt be plotting something revengeful.
