Dr Who ?

When Lee Carsley was appointed interim England Soccer Manager yesterday, many asked Who is he ? Similarly when Obama entered the race for President many asked the same question. Often from behind the curtain of oblivion steps the unknown person on to life’s stage. Since the program of that name we have had 19 actors who have portrayed the Doctor many unknowns, stepping from that Tardis speaking with different Dalek.

Life’s stage allows for the unkown to step up and mingle with the known. In due time they are no longer who as they become household. When Jesus started His Ministry many asked who is he ? Then to find He was only the Carpenter’s son out of Nazareth failed to link him to the miracles He performed. How could this possibly be ?

Most of us remain unknown throughout our lives , known only by on average 611 others of whom only around 20 we daily interact with. Out of nearly 8 billion we are but grains of sand. Unlike Taylor Swift who has 283 million fan followers via her social media , though true friends she can probably count swiftly on one hand. Back to Jesus , well today around 1.2 billion people follow Him and 2000 years on. Taylor may not be remembered in 4,024 , who knows ?

In a cafe recently the waitress gave me a bill for £19.45 and I said ‘ that’s when the war ended ‘ Bemused she asked me what’s that ? I quipped you know ‘ Hitler and all that ‘ . Asking who was that she asked me to enter my PIN number. The Who can soon be forgotten.

Who we are will depend upon the legacy we leave and each of us will leave that footprint in the sand of life’ stage. Who we will be remembered by depends on events. History will tell your story. According to Electronics Weekly the funeral of Queen Elizabeth was the most viewed media even as 4.1 billion watched. How many of the 611 people will be at ours ? Dr Who is better than being Dr No, even James Bond will tell you that and there have been only 7 of those.
