I don’t have the foggiest idea if this is fog or pollution that surrounds the India Gate Delhi yesterday. The War Memorial for the 90,000 Indian soldiers who fought and died in many British wars was designed by Sir Edward Lutyens in 1921 and completed in 1931.
The population of India was 278m in 1931 and today it is over 1,400 million. Yes in only 93 years a 5 fold increase. Whether it’s fog or pollution they are all staying indoors and in bed, clearly. Coincidentally the idiom ‘ foggiest idea ‘ appeared in the Times of India in May 1863 and it refers to vague or hazy . It surfaced In British language around 1913 and today you could say that no one has the foggiest idea what’s going on in the world.
I believe that the growth of world population 100 years ago was 2 billion today it’s over 8 billion is the cause of great change. Think of all those mouths to feed and the stress laid upon people’s lives to deliver. Think of all the opinions that have to be accommodated daily, all the wants , the needs, the wish lists.
Think of all the production that’s needed to deliver the goods and services just to keep the globe spinning. Meantime mankind pursues other planets reckoning that to do so will maintain our survival. It’s all too big to fathom , we are grains of sand on a beach yet our brains are magnificently made and it’s capability functioning only at 10% capacity according to neurologists.
Yes it’s the very centre of our ideas even the foggiest ideas. Then as the population grows the more the odds are that there will be genius birthed to provide solutions to all our problems. The likes of Einstein, Tesla, Da Vinci, Musk , Galileo, Faraday , Curie they all have come and there’s more to follow. Yes the Creator has the plan and the path of discovery has been already laid.
We live in exciting times where we have capabilities to create and destroy , to make peace or make misery, it’s in our hands.
So , even if we don’t have the foggiest idea what’s happening, destiny does and we can feel confident that one day all will be revealed and we will all understand why we are here, the purpose and life to come. We shall see clearly , no fog , no pollution , all uncertainty uncovered as we step out of the darkness into the light.
