Eight centuries on the great Cathedral of Paris resurrects tonight. The fire of April 2019 sought to ruin and on that fateful night the wind raised in fury to bring down the spire as the original oak roof structure succumbed to flame.
Yet there was a spirit that flame could not touch and that was the spirit of revival. Five years later the cathedral rebuilt with 2000 new oaks felled to create the new roof structure. The crown of thorns that donned the head of Christ on the eve of His crucifixion remained intact and found its place in the Cathedral. Christ not removed , intact and forever. Leaders and Presidents , now and elect in attendance together with the Parisians and the 2000 plus workers who exercised their gifts of ability in revival

As the Archbishop of Paris opened the Cathedral those firemen that minimised damage that night paraded in red like the Cardinals of Rome and at 10.47 pm that night the fire went out. Those professions that savoir faire rediscovered to create the masterpiece.

At 28 years of age Napoleon was crowned Emperor of France there in 1804 and tonight President Macron stood as leader of the Republic yet against the backdrop of vast political uncertainty in France.
Yet France nominally a Catholic country lacks the fervour and attendance of worship with only 4% of them regularly attending. As the bells of Notre Dame ring again prayer rings out for revival of spirit and that revival of the stones and timber delivers revival of the hearts. As for the hunchback he did not attend the ceremony tonight , some say he was still lurking in the roof but tonight he was not seen.

Later perhaps the hunchback will comeback. Just like Trump the President Elect who returns in January and who was in the Cathedral tonight sat on his throne between Emanuel and Bridget visible for us all to see as many leaders behind him praying for tariff reduction that he hopes will make America great again.
Tonight however the lights of the world are on Notre Dame as it is made great again.
Vive La France , Vive Notre Dame.
