Capital Punishment.

The last Capital Punishment in the UK was in 1964 and was completely banned following Human Rights Legislation in 1988. The argument against execution was that mistakes could and were made. That’s a very good reason to have stopped these.

However the triple murders of the three little girls in Southport is a watershed moment. The perpetrator pleaded guilty , others ( plural ) saw him , a 14 year old girl present gave horrific account of the event in Court yesterday. There is no doubt whatsoever that the Police arrested and charged the right person.

The sentence to imprisonment of 52 years was given. The Old Testament speaks of an eye for an eye a tooth for a tooth. The New Testament speaks of Forgiveness. Other religions condemn murder. There were 583 murders in Britain last year , over 10 per week. Leopards can change their spots but not according to the Bible.

The annual cost of keeping someone in prison is , from the most recent stats £51,724. The Capital Punishment to Britain for the act in Southport is £2,689,648.

The MP for Southport has said that the sentence was too lenient and has called for a review. Any sensible Society would conclude what should happen next. The faces of three young girls fill our screens and broadsheets today , they live no more, their parents devastated forever.

Capital Punishment in absolute glaring guilt must be right.
