Those that went twice to war in Europe France , Germany and Britain barely match today the size of the market enjoyed by America 125 years ago. Europe declined , UK diminished exacerbated by Brexit whilst America boomed.
The decline of UK was 8 fold.
What happened ? We all know why.
All Empires fade , just ask the Greeks , Romans and Turks. In 1899 the combined wealth of France Germany and Uk was only two thirds of America in 2024 and with similar sized populations Europe is in trouble which is another T word.
Trump loves the word Tariff and he’s going to hit the EU hard according to his recent comment. No need to fight each other just do it with Tariffs. The American dream is back and Trump will seek to Make America great again and again and again.
Special relationships will be out of the window and Trump will next invite Starmer to become the 51st State of America and make Britain great again. Britain could have become the Hong Kong of Europe but will now become the Hong Kong of America. Trump will then stop the boats as he stops the Mexicans and build a wall rising from the Channel. if Nigel Farage become PM then there is a natural synergy though by the time that happens DT will have left the White House and this fantasy may never be fulfilled.
