Perseverance

When NASA launched it rocket last week of July towards Mars it carried the car sized buggy called Perseverance on its back. The journey at a minimum distance of 35 million miles will take 9 months and its like having a baby. In this case at 3 billion dollars a tad more expensive.

Mars is the second closest planet to our Earth and like us it orbits the sun for us each orbit takes one year for Mars it takes two years, When Perseverance lands on the Red Planet the buggy will search the Martian landscape and it has the capability of digging up to two metres to search for clues if there are any signs of life there. We choose to go to Mars because as Kennedy once said ‘ because it’s there ‘ and in that case I understand. I love the name of the buggy as it conjures in my mind what it takes to get there to finish the job to see effort become reality , to witness success from failure.

Like Perseverance we will need to dig deep to often find ourselves that very secret weapon that will conquer and provide the house built on grit and hewn from the rocks of despair and disappointment that we need to climb and cross just to get there. These things are not accomplished overnight and any surrender will ensure that you will never see victory. I encourage those now struggling in whatever situation to never give up in whatever situation you find yourself in be it health , financial or relationship

Giving up is never an option and though you may visit Wits End several times I know that the harder the battle the greater the victory. The white flag must never be hoisted, look for that chequered flag, run that race fire perseverance develops character, character hope and in hope we survive.

Good luck NASA and I look forward to next Spring, the landing , the rolling out and the reports back. If any Martians are there then I say the same , Perseverance
