No Man’s Land

Those days after Christmas and before New Year often feel like being in between, stranded in No Man’s land. About to leave the past , about to enter the new, the next chapter in your journey. Wondering what the next holds, knowing all you’ve seen, wild speculation mixed with acceptance.

Of course life should be seamless but it never is for there are seasons for everything. Once upon a time, it came to pass speak of time and the great sage Solomon did also. In time and as Steve Jobs the Apple founder once said ‘ the dots connect ‘ just like one of those picture puzzles you did when a child.

If only foresight was as clear as hindsight if only we knew what the future held , but would we want to go there if we did ? The unknown is not something to fear but to embrace and as we stand at the station platform called No Man’s Land we do so with our baggage at our side. Some of these bags of course you shouldn’t be taking with you. In the sack called memories you can pack but some of the previous is just too heavy a load.

In No Man’s Land you can prepare with hope and anticipation neatly packed alongside expectancy and perseverance. For some it may be a good time to reflect on where you really want to go or indeed clarify your destination and try work out your best route. No man’s land is one of life’s pauses in proceedings just like this year has been when nature readjusted itself, the birds sang louder and the rant of rush calmed. We now have the opportunity to move forward in perhaps a new way that works better for you.

You are the future and if we all resolve to be the difference the world will be a better place. Think these days of what you can do to contribute to that better place. Perhaps kinder to that neighbour of yours, more patient with that work colleague or not so tetchy when you have to wait for something. It’s all in our hands and in no man’s land we can work things out. Though stranded you’ve landed at the platform of your next step ready to unveil your tomorrow. It’s exciting and your best days are yet to come. Covid 19 will come to pass lockdown will be knockdown and there will be a new challenge but you’ll be ready for it. Your journey continues as you are about to leave No Man’s Land.

Go for it , Go from it and just do it. You ain’t coming back. No dress rehearsal this is your time and it will pass. Now is the time, you’re leaving No Man’s Land.
