International Women’s Day

Yippee I’m celebrating all the women. From my mother ( deceased ) to my wife ( alive ) to my mother in law ( deceased ), to all the lawyers, accountants and marketing genius that I work with. This is the day. I’m yelling for Yellen, I’m happy for Harris , I’m mourning for May. Think of the feminine heroes of UK old, Nursing Nightingale, tenacious Thatcher, political Pankhurst. Let’s not forget Mrs Beaton the original baker, lovely Lynn who won the war with her voice, super Sharman our first uk astronaut. Professor Davies the Oxford gene doctor, Lady Arden our only remaining UK Supreme Court Judge. The list is endless. We are surrounded by women who delivered us all into the world and without them life would never happen again.

Today’s the day and for all in the UK we are about to hear from moaner Markle, once again behind All of America but here we go 9pm tonight just before bedtime and what a bedtime story that will be. I hear we are going to be told that ‘ uk is institutionally racist ‘ just like the Archbishop of Canterbury told us about the Church of England last year. Come on Meghan you did get married in there, you knew what it was , you signed up for it in the Registry. You were marriage mentored by the man. You married a white Prince don’t forget and accepted another colour with mocca coloured kids which are usually very beautiful. Let’s celebrate mix of diversity and if you really did marry three days before that Royal wedding it must have been the mother of all dress rehearsals. Is it really possible to marry twice in three days ?

Surely we are finished now with the endless discussion on racism, the bending of the knee , the bending of the ear, the flood of black models in Vogue and all things Fashion. I get it we all wear clothes but I can’t apologise for being white and I am married to a brown woman. I’m doing my bit for diversity I love my wife, she’s a woman and I’m celebrating her today. She’s clever, she works, she cooks, she cleans, she’s Mother, she’s a writer, she’s an international speaker and Charles Aznavour sang about her once ‘ She ‘. Yes she’s female and like all women formed from the rib of man in that Garden of Eden when God didn’t want all the guys to be alone. We thank God for the women and we both need each other ribs and all. Long may it last and God save The Queen who after 68 years on the Throne is the longest serving Monarch of all time and really doesn’t need anymore headaches in her remaining years. Let’s pray for all of the women on International Women’s Day.
