Great Change.

Out walking this morning I heard a rush behind me, though alone I sensed someone was following me. Then I realised it was the sound of the leaves falling from the trees above. In a eureka moment I realised why this Autumn season is called the Fall especially in that majestic place called New England.

As I walked on the leaves felt like they were crying out, ringing out like bells a new season and at that moment I found topic for today’s blog, Change. In the world today there is great change coming out of a climate of vast uncertainty, a fury of fear and more outbreaks of loneliness and mental health.

In the business world there are increasingly more challenges, supply lines falter and one can no longer rely on jobs for life. The means of exchange are moving to different realms from contactless, digital , paper and coins falling away like leaves from the trees. In transport as we sit on the eve of all things battery I can’t help thinking that this is not going to work and last minute something else will be found. Nuclear fusion that means from how the sun powers up makes more sense in the natural. Farewell to fossil fuels must be a long goodbye I would have thought despite best intentions coming out of Glasgow.

Meantime in this time of great change there seems as there has been before a spiritual awakening taking place as people search for more meaning to this life which let’s face it has numerous challenge. My mate Andy who gave up Christianity to live in the present and practices mindfulness isn’t looking for anything other than the now. For us and those that do believe we look forward to the future in that better place promised to come where there will be no more tears and pain, no sickness nor lack. Meantime we can get into the now in prayer but my mate Andy won’t have it and I get where he’s at and we are still good friends.

The reality there is change, more micro flats size 150 square feet are being built today as people live alone and those kids at home no longer talk to their parents but text from their bedroom screens. Getting a text to tell you they are not joining you for dinner is normal. They can’t afford to leave the hotel and the parents are stuck with these giant creatures wandering around oblivious to others.

Churches like everything else is going on line even Andy does his thing online in that room with a zoom. Solomon told us that there is a time, a season for everything under the sun. He’s right change happens but in seasons of Great Change we need to keep up and be alert to the fact that we are all being rounded up, profiled and kept in line , new passports, Covid passports, booster passports , health tests, antigen tests, lateral flow tests and examinations. No wonder why I thought I was being followed earlier. No really it was the leaves for sure reminding me of the great change we are all in and times to come.

  1. I was drawn to you post by your lovely image. I’m a bit like your mate Andy I guess. I think you can be spiritual and moralistic without religion. I see religion historically as a way to “round up, profile and keep in line” the people. Man has probably killed more men in the name of their chosen God than any other reason, excepting perhaps greed. Really, that’s what’s killing us now. There are enough resources on the planet to feed and house us all and knowledge from science to fix the planet (if it is not now too late). Humans could collectively do it if we overcame greed and selfishness, but I don’t think praying will change anything. Only a massive paradigm shift and voting in more science based compassionate governments.
Sorry for the rant, but I think the flock has been led astray. Peace be with you 🙂

    1. Thank you for taking the time to write. The image was taken off my I phone 12 and it’s attributes cannot be credited to me.

As for religion I’m not religious one bit but I am in a daily relationship with Christ through the Holy Spirit which really suits me as I have witnessed transformation in my life. My friend was Terrence Donovan a Vogue Fashion photographer who took his own life and I came to Christ as it were after that.

You would like my mate Andy who is a very decent individual and one I respect. I never try to convert others to my ways. Ultimately we are witnesses. Keep well.

      1. I enjoy discussing spirituality and religion in a respectful way and I mean no offence 🙂 My Mum died a few years ago from a brain tumour, it pushed my sister further into religion and me further away. We still get on. We were not brought up in a religious house but it was not discouraged. It was good that we were allowed to make up our own minds and it wasn’t foisted upon us.

      2. My mate Andy lost his Mum last year and he does not sense the need to see her again which Christianity offers. I lost my mother many years ago and believe she has simply gone on ahead of me and there will be a reunited moment. You sound like you had a good Mum not one that drums in a belief. The choice the free will is ours, I would say God given. I think your Mum would want you and your sister to stay close whatever you both believe. Some of my blogs touch on the subject of death and mothers. Thank you for writing.

  2. I read your post with great interest!
Unfortunately, the metamorphosis taking place in the world produces an increase in the level of loneliness, uncertainty, control and fear. This can cause people to suspect even the noise of falling leaves. I do not believe that the origin of all this is healthy, because love and fear are incompatible and create opposite realities, the first brings life, the second oppression, depression and death. Loneliness opens the door to fear and makes us unable to understand and live the laws of love. Uncertainty seeks refuge in the law and a society in which the level of control is constantly increasing, testifies to a corresponding and gradual decrease of freedom, therefore of love, because only the love of God makes us truly free!

    1. Well said Edio. The post has attracted numerous comments especially from non believers and interestingly has presented a platform to mention Christ. The photograph appealed to quite a few readers from Tasmania ( not sure why ).

Your observations are eloquently expressed. ( You should write a blog too ) . Great to hear from you. Martin
