Fear is the unpleasant emotion of feeling something unknown, painful or threatening. It is real it is horrible and often that something is seen and unseen. The threat is often more powerful that the act , the sight of the sword of Damocles worse than the blade of Damocles.
15% of the 7.846 billion world populous suffer from it daily, that’s right over 1.3 billion living in fear. There are 19 million Americans living with the fear phobia. It is an emotion that seriously affects our health, kidney disease for example will result under prolonged periods of fear. The Chicago Stock Exchange set up and index called VIX in the financial markets which measures fear in the marketplace. What we confront will die but what we tolerate will dominate.
Fear leads to anger often it’s a defence mechanism working and anger the blogger will look at another day. What causes fear ? Where does it come from ? How can we get rid of it ? All good questions which I’m tackling in this short blog. Fear is often irrational when seen by a third party but intense when viewed personally it is however irrational as often what we fear will come upon us, Job told us that and he’s right. Worry and fear are partners in the unknown pit of hell from where it comes. We can be rid of it by , well in my case prayer which brings perspective and in turn positive purpose. We can’t worry it away , we can’t tell someone ‘ don’t worry ‘but we can remind them to ask themselves when was the last time what they feared ever materialised. True a touch of fear will keep us on our toes and get us up in the morning but heavy doses will douse our days with ditch water.
Fear of failure will paralyse one in business as without risk taking there can be only average and average doesn’t pay. Stepping up and stepping out without the spirit of fear brings results. The blogger has learned to live with the positives in any situation and disperse the negatives. In these uncertain times fear reigns and the ‘ what if ‘ scenarios rage rampant. Ask yourself what’s the worse that can happen to you ? Many today are in fear of persecution in their nations but we must stand up to the bullies and baffle them with kindness , not to react in panic the fuel of any bully. Hold on to God’s promise in Isaiah 41 verse 10 for ‘ do not fear He is with you ‘
The little foxes run that fear in our lives , those Vixens with the VIX but we can be victorious. Next time you feel the fear think of the blog and cast it aside, refuse to be harassed by this spirit and fight back in the knowledge that you win. Remember what you confront will die what you tolerate will dominate. Don’t be scared be prepared.
The Psalms speak often of fear. Fear would seem the opposition of faith, or perhaps the natural emotion when we step out in faith.

Love chases away fear. It wasn’t me who discovered it! I read it in the Bible and I really believe that it is. Our favorite way of fighting fears is control. The more we are able to control emotions, people and circumstances, the less they scare us. For this reason we are happy when cameras and webcams invade our private and personal life, if they give us a greater degree of control. For us, being able to control emotions, situations and people, it means being able to rule over them. Unfortunately, however, they often get out of hand; daily life offers us circumstances that create unexpected and unknown emotional states and interpersonal relationships. And it is precisely the world of the unpredictable and unknown things that triggers the crises, those panic crises that we fight by trying to regain control. When we fail, we fall back on drugs for anxiety and panic. But there is only one medicine that heals and frees us from fear: love. God’s love generates secure relationships. They represent the only possibility of finding tranquility, emotional strength and the ability to govern any situation. Everyone has their fears, but whoever is alone becomes a slave to them and whoever is dominated by them cannot get out of them alone. It does not surprise me, therefore, that the society that has freed itself from God, is left alone, and is increasingly prey to fear and control.
