As we leave.

As the leaves leave and the end of Autumn nears , Winter is up ahead on the path called life. Slightly ahead of the path I walked earlier , Winter starts on the 21st December this year and is with us for 12 weeks. As we leave Autumn ( literally ) we are also about to leave 2021.

For many 2021 was a difficult year as we tried to leave that virus that bugged many and as we digested leaving Europe into the post Brexit bureaucracy. What has seemed to be a seamless nightmare threatened by nastier variants and supply shortages we have all toughened to the new life. Many of course ( me included ) lost loved ones this year but as I say they’ve simply gone ahead on life’s path and as Vera Lynn told us ‘ We’ll meet again ‘

It does seem that it’s not only the leaves that are falling away and the end of Brexit Boris as our Prime Minister looks increasingly imminent as his colleagues round on him readying for the Ides. Ironically I believe he has a contract to write a book on the life of Julius Caesar for much needed revenues. That stab in the back may not come as that much of a surprise.

As we leave 2021 each one of us will have their own hallmark memories and hopefully learned something. I learned to live in the now and to appreciate and be thankful for what I have rather than lament of what I don’t have. Now is where it is at, learn to appreciate the leaves falling, the buds breaking and the sun scorching especially if you believe what came out of Glasgow.

As I take leave of you now, thanks to all those in the 37 nations that follow the blog and I’ll keep blogging into the seasons to come. God Bless.
