Clouds

Clouds gather along the path

Will the rain have the final laugh ?

End the drought fill reservoir,

Stream, lakes, rivers afar.

The end of ban, long hosepipe,

Brown gardens green that’s no hype,

Cumulus , Cirrus ,Nimbus too

Water carriers through and through

Storm or tempest on the way

Noah’s ark set to sail

Earth, two thirds ocean , one third land

Can’t take a shower or in there stand

Water , Water every where and not a drop to drink

Redundant dishwashers, by the kitchen sink

Shower gel

What the hell , bath night once a week.

We need those clouds to gather heavy

To break the banks and burst the levy

To grow the crops that feed us all,

Come rain or shine it nurtures soil.

We need to extend infrastructure,

Unless we do the system rupture

We need to plug those leaks

And fix those pipes that often squeak

Oh please clouds soon, drop your load

Wet the backs of frog and toad

Umbrellas out and up once more

Come and fill these British shores.
