Resurrection

In his best selling book Josh McDowell details the evidence of the Resurrection. No one had ever returned from the dead , left the tomb ever and in no other Religion. As a young man an agnostic He truly believed that Christianity was worthless. However, when challenged to intellectually examine the claims of Christianity, Josh discovered compelling, overwhelming evidence for the reliability of the Christian faith. After trusting in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord, Josh’s life changed dramatically as he experienced the power of God’s love.

After his conversion, his plans for law school turned instead to plans to tell a doubting world about the truth of Jesus Christ. After studying at Kellogg College, Josh completed his college degree at Wheaton College and then attended Talbot Theological Seminary, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Master of Divinity degree. In 1961, Josh joined the staff of Campus Crusade for Christ International. Not long after, he started the Josh McDowell Ministry* to reach young people worldwide with the truth and love of Jesus.

Without the resurrection Christianity does not exist. It is the central tenet and you either believe or not. It is not a criticism if doubts exist and people’s faith can often be challenged especially when events in one’s life give rise to one’s questioning. If you believe as I do then in your own death and despite the inevitable there will be resurrection when Jesus Christ returns as He said He would. No one knows when that will be but whenever it is you will know. Josh was once an agnostic but no longer. I tell you this in case you might like to read the evidence that demands a verdict and then see what happens.

  1. Thank you for your Easter posts. In the interests of balance, I’d like to point your readers to a well argued critique of ‘Evidence That Demands A Verdict’ in which McDowell’s “compelling, overwhelming evidence” is carefully and completely deconstructed piece by piece:

    1. The Blogger thanks you for following the three Easter posts. Clearly the verdict some people will reach will differ from others. It’s very good that you draw the need to do so and the atheist guy ( didn’t catch his name ) presents very succinctly and eloquently his take. Probably An atheist is defined in one dictionary as someone who disbelieves in God or Gods. If there is a vacuum then presumably that could be filled with something else. Thank you for your post. The only contention as a believer in God was that the atheist says the Christianity. ‘ denounces education’ which I do completely disagree with as the majority of Universities in the western world were in fact founded by Christian believers.
